Development
WHAT IS A SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM?
The St. Ignatius School Development program was established in 2003 to increase awareness of the school and raise the funds necessary for the school’s ongoing operations.
The Development program is an organized, year round plan with four major objectives:
1. To promote the school to its past, present and future school community.
2. To involve the St. Ignatius community in the life of the school.
3. To engage the wider community in the life of the school.
4. To encourage financial and volunteer support for the school along with in-kind goods and services.
DID YOU KNOW? The income from tuition is less than the actual cost of educating a St. Ignatius student. A subsidy from the St. Ignatius parish helps to bridge the gap, but we depend on our community for help in order to keep tuition affordable. We do this by implementing a clear public relations plan, increasing school enrollment, continuing the annual appeal, grant writing, building the endowment fund and seeking capital funds as necessary.
The school development program needs you!
WHAT IS AN ANNUAL APPEAL?
An Annual Appeal assists St. Ignatius School in continuing its rich tradition of providing a faith-centered Catholic education.
The Annual Appeal, as the name implies, is conducted once a year and seeks financial support from school families, parishioners, alumni, friends and the greater community in the form of gifts to the School Fund, Tuition Assistance Fund and/or the Endowment Fund. It is the foundation of fundraising success. It is not a substitute for the fundraising activities implemented by the Parents Association.
The appeal is a fundamental element of the Development program because it encourages community-wide support, provides a steady source of income and develops and builds a solid base of donors. It is an excellent way to promote the school, nurtures a habit of regular giving and builds long-term strength.
Elements of the Annual Appeal include a lead gift campaign, kick-off event, solicitation letter, phonathon, and various public relations activities.
DID YOU KNOW? School parents can earn Fair Share Hours working on the Development Committee or the Annual Appeal.
YOU'RE INVITED!
Everyone can make a difference in the development program and/or the Annual Appeal, whether writing a check, working on a committee or promoting the mission of St. Ignatius School in other ways. If you are committed to ensuring support of the school now and in the future, you’re invited to join the development team.
