Scouting
The Scouting programs at St. Ignatius offers youth many opportunities to grow. Scouting develops character values, like trying to do one’s best and service to the community. The programs varies somewhat, depending on current leadership, so the best way to check things out is to show up to a meeting and see for yourself.
Cub Scouting is for boys 6-10 years old. Cubs have fun making friends and learning new skills. Activities include: Pinewood Derby, Rain Gutter Regatta, Bike Rodeo and annual family campout. Pack meets on third Thursday of each month in Dillon Hall.
Girl Scouting focuses on improving teamwork and self esteem. Girls 5-18 years old improve skills and make lasting friendships. Meeting times vary depending on group. For more information visit the council’s website at: www.girlscoutscrc.org
Boy Scouts spend a lot of time camping and hiking. Boys 11–18 years old develop various skills and receive leadership training. Activities include monthly campouts, weeklong summer camp and service projects. Join us for a meeting, almost every Wednesday night in Dillon Hall, or check out our web site at: www.troop351.org
Venture Crew is for those who like high adventure. Boys and girls 14-21 years old go white water rafting, horseback riding, snowboarding and backpacking. The crew usually meets on Thursday nights. Check it out at a meeting and start a new adventure!
Scouting at St. Ignatius . . . much more than selling Christmas trees or cookies!
